Analysis Of The Production Process Of Fiberglass Pipe Winding Equipment
Fiberglass pipe winding equipment achieves precision molding of fiber-reinforced plastic pipes through mechanization and automation. Its process flow covers multiple key stages from raw material preparation to finished product inspection, directly determining the structural integrity and performance indicators of the product. In formal production, each stage must strictly adhere to process specifications to ensure the pipe possesses excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
Production begins with raw material preparation and equipment debugging. Fiberglass needs to be categorized and wound according to specifications, and its moisture content and appearance quality must be checked to prevent moisture absorption or damage from affecting the impregnation effect. The resin matrix should be thoroughly stirred in a dedicated container to remove air bubbles and adjust to the required viscosity and temperature. Regarding equipment, the dimensional accuracy and surface condition of the mandrel need to be verified, the transmission, guide wire, and impregnation systems confirmed to be operating normally, and the coordinate and speed parameters of the CNC system initialized to match the designed winding line.
Subsequently, the fiber supply and impregnation process begins. The fiber is drawn out from the yarn rack, shaped by the guide wire mechanism, and then enters the impregnation tank. Under constant temperature control, it fully contacts the resin to form a uniform fiber-resin composite tape. In this stage, the tension control system plays a crucial role, ensuring constant tension on the fibers during transport and preventing uneven distribution or fiber breakage due to slack or excessive tightness. Precise control of the resin content directly affects the pipe's density and strength.
Winding is the core process stage. The mandrel is fixed to the drive spindle and rotates at a set speed. The carriage moves axially along a predetermined trajectory, layer by layer, spirally or circumferentially coating the resin-impregnated fibers onto the mandrel surface. The CNC system synchronously coordinates the rotation speed and movement speed to achieve the designed fiber angle and layer thickness distribution, meeting the structural requirements of different pressure levels. For thick-walled pipes or pipes in special working conditions, alternating spiral and circumferential winding can be implemented to optimize stress performance.
After winding, the curing stage begins. Depending on the resin system characteristics, room temperature natural curing or heat curing can be selected. Heat curing requires a gradient temperature increase program to prevent rapid resin reaction and internal stress cracking, while maintaining temperature uniformity to ensure overall curing quality. The pipe wall temperature can be monitored during curing, and the heat source power can be adjusted promptly.
After curing, demolding and finishing are performed. Demolding requires careful handling to prevent damage to the pipe surface and end flatness. Finishing includes removing excess burrs, grinding the ends, and necessary dimensional checks. Following this, visual inspection and dimensional measurements are performed, and pressure testing and non-destructive testing are conducted according to standards to verify the pipe's sealing and strength. Qualified products proceed to labeling, packaging, and warehousing to ensure traceability and safe transportation.
Overall, the production process of FRP pipe winding equipment reflects a deep integration of materials, equipment, and control. Meticulous management at each stage is the foundation for ensuring high product quality and reliability, and provides solid support for large-scale and standardized industrial production.
